Dr. Tawio Barksdale received his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University, Master of Arts in Teaching and a Doctorate in Education from University of Southern California.  He has served in numerous roles in public education including classroom teacher, instructional coach, behavior interventionist, and administrative assistant/assistant principal.  As a high school and middle school basketball and football coach, he worked with students on maximizing their potential through self-reflection, personal development and confidence building.  Additionally, Dr. Barksdale is an educational consultant through his organization, Infinity Aspirations, LLC, which collaborates with school districts, schools, and other profit and non-profit organizations in the areas of community building, equitable teaching/organizational practices, and professional/personal metacognition (self-reflection). He has also the author of "First Things First: Putting Students Before Standards-A Practical Guide for Building Positive and Engaged Learning Communities" and "Equitable Schooling for African American Students".
